This past weekend found Kris and I here....... http://sea-isle-city.nj.us/photos.asp We spent time with our life group(not a cult) at a beach house that belongs to the family of a couple in our group.
It was simply a time to relax and hang out. Each of us were responsible for cooking a meal for our time together. Kris broke out the crock pot for some chili that was inhaled by everyone in short order.
Here are some thoughts on our time at the beach...... in March.
1. At one point Ryan remarked, "Remember when we were kids and we couldn't understand why our parents would have friends over the house and just sit around and talk" Here we sat, doing the same thing for the better part of 2-3 days.
2. Life is better when you don't agree with everyone.
As we sat around hitting on everything from Politics, to birth control it quickly becomes obvious that when you put 6-8 people in a room, you get many opinions. As some of these subject matters truly define a person, conversations can be impassioned.
At the end of the weekend I realized that I enjoy the company of these people in no small part because of our differences, because we disagree. When we parted ways, we were all a little closer, differences n' all.
3. The waters of the Atlantic ocean in March are cold. I know this because at some point someone told me I wouldn't charge into the water for a dip.
One thing leads to another and you get this. (I suggest you have your sound turned on)
