Top Ten Parenting Moments, so far

From the vast archives of my parenting experiences, I bring you this post.

Who am I kidding? Parenting for me right now amounts to a few dirty diapers and the strategic placement of the occasional pacifier. Therefore this list will be short.
As people learned that I was going to become a father, I became the recipient of advice, insights and many opinions on how to handle my not yet born child. Here are the few I have held onto.

1. You will find ways to fit your child into your life.
2. The experience of parenthood will be "life altering"
3. Kids are the greatest thing in the world. They are also the biggest pain in the ass.
4. The goal of every parent should be to screw up your kid less then you were screwed up.
4. ****Try not to let the baby sleep in your bed.****
****This one is listed because at present we are having difficulty complying****

I have been waiting for some great epiphany. A feeling that will consume me with the realization that I am now a Father. The video below shows one such moment. Kris had gone to the gym for the morning and I was feeding Aiden.
All at once his expression said to me that he was both completely dependant on me, and also completely content.

A quick disclaimer. I have no intention of becoming a person who lacks the ability to have a conversation that that does not center around sounds, smells or bodily functions of my child.

I hope you talk to your son when you feed him! The sound of your voice can be a great comfort! As far as an epiphany goes, it will hit you when you least expect it!
