Guess Who's Coming For Dinner.......

Or, what is coming up in the next few weeks.
1. Easter
This year, Easter dinner for the combined Niehaus/Smith families will take place in Willow Street, PA. We will be serving(drum roll please) cold cuts.If you are not from NYC you may prefer to say, "lunch meat", although you'd be wrong for doing so. As for why we are having cold cuts....I don't like the traditional ham entree. Furthermore, I despise doing dishes. This year there will be paper plates and plastic cups for everyone. The night before Easter, a few good friends will take a ride out to LCBC with Kris, Aiden, and I for what is sure to be a great experience. Easter with family and great friends. Nothing could be better.

2. Spring Party
The last weekend in April will bring with it a gathering of the most amazing people I have ever met. The crew from the OC will spend a few hours eating and drinking, and drinking at our house. I'm counting on a number of overnight guests.

3. NYC!
The only thing better then dinner in TriBeCa or an afternoon in Central Park or taking in a show, is doing all of the above with great friends. Also on the menu will be the bar scene of the lower east side, (Kris and my Dad would make world class tour guides of this area)the USS Intrepid, and Ellis Island. There is a good chance I simply won't sleep for 48 hours. How fitting. A guest writer will bring you the account of this grand adventure, once it has be lived into history.

4. Muskie Fishing
Pete, Dad, and I will travel to the Allegheny river to fish for Muskie. These animals reach sizes of 5feet and 60lbs. This is gonna be a freakin' blast. I'm hoping for a few, once in a lifetime photo opportunities.

5. Looking further ahead, Kris and I will take a trip to the Upper Yough
We will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary at one of the premiere whitewater locations in the world. The following was copied from the guide service's website, describing the type of experience we can expect....." Extremely long, obstructed, or very turbulent rapids which expose a paddler to added risk. Drops may contain large, unavoidable waves and holes or steep, congested chutes with complex, demanding routes. Rapids may continue for long distances between pools, demanding a high level of fitness. What eddies exist may be small, forceful, or difficult to reach. At the high end of the scale, several of these factors may be combined. Swims are dangerous, and rescue is often difficult even for experts. Proper equipment, extensive experience, and practiced rescue skills are essential." When I showed this to Kris and suggested she bring her "A" game, she responded,"Give me a break, you took Tommy last year!"
Who knows, maybe we can find my shoe this year.
