Everything You'll Ever Need To Know, You Can Learn From Seinfeld

Lately, we have been encoureged to think in terms of "what if"
What if the wisdom of this world is worthless and wrong? What if everything we are encouraged to live in pursuit of, will only bring us sadness? What if we pass the incorrect ideals along to our children and the next generation?
I believe we live in a culture that breeds selfishness.
Everyone wants to know.....
How do I earn more?
What am I entitled to?
What are my rights?
How can I advance my agenda?
Well, what if we all did the opposite? What if we acted with the interests of others in mind. What if instead of hoarding our money, we gave more of it away? What if we spoke to that person nobody else cares for? What if we only spoke the truth? What if you pushed through life's challenges rather then cower and retreat. What if you lived with less, so your neighbor could live with more?
Once you start to consider all the what if's out there, the possibilities are endless.
Maybe we take a lesson George, do the opposite, and ask, what if.

What if the pursuit of "success" only yields a life of un-fulfillment.

What if contentment was not found in the latest, greatest, and best; but in living with less.

Our experiences in Africa left us longing for something else. It was hard coming home to everything. Coming home to the job, the house, the things, the responsibilities. Africa was about the people, the relationships, the experiences together as a team. That is where we were fulfilled. The poor and oppressed black people of Africa had more than I could ever imagine. They had no things, but they had everything. They had each other, they had close bonds and relationships. They gave us so much through their gift of hospitality and love.

I walked into Africa feeling that I could do something to help them. I left Africa feeling like I was the one needing to be helped.

"When something is missing in your life, it usually turns out to be someone." ~Robert Brault

What if we loved others as we loved ourselves.
What if we valued the experiences of life with others more than the things we own.
What if our value system is all wrong.
